Deluxe Wine Tasting
This was a re-visit to FROMM as the past experience did not turn out well due to the presence of fruit flies. I must say FROMM did take comment seriously and warmly welcomed me back. Their tasting price tag quite steep compared to their peers in Marlborough region but they produced some of the best wines with style.

Pinot Naturel by FROMM 2018
Alc 12.5%, 100% Pinot Noir - Organic no adjustment no additives

The approach of making this wine is to produce a pure wine displaying the fruits of the vineyard.
(Neutral barrel, MLF)
Clear garnet, purple hue.
Hints of ripe red fruits, dried cherries and raspberries.
Light bodied, elegant acidity, finish short but clean and gentle.

FROMM Pinot Noir 2017
Alc 13.5%, 100% Pinot Noir

Blend of few parcels of fruits from sub-regions (Brancott, Waihopai & Wairau Valley).
Clear garnet, clear pink hue with touch of warm tone.
Aromas of strawberry lollies, asian spices and vanilla.
Light on the body, finish of medium with good structure.

FROMM Pinot Noir Cuvée "H" 2017
Alc 13.5%, 100% Pinot Noir

Blend of premium quality fruits from single vineyards.
Clear ruby, deep pink rim.
Wet pine woods, forrest floor, ripe cherries and strawberry jam.
Medium plus, mineral character, chewy tannin and weight mouthfeel.
Powerful yet elegant.

FROMM Pinot Noir Churton Vineyard 2017
Alc 13.5%, 100% Pinot Noir

Situated in the Waihopai Valley at a higher altitude naturally higher acidity.
This is the wine of the tasting for me today.
Clear ruby, deep pink hue, persistent legs.
Ripe cherries and loads of dark fruits.
Burgundian style, medium to full-bodied, finish with velvety tannin and red fruit notes.

FROMM Pinot Noir Clayvin Vineyard 2017
Alc 13.5%, 100% Pinot Noir

Expression of single vineyard and quality.
Earthy and spicy, energised with aroma of forrest floor and wet stones.
Medium bodied, minerals, finish off weighty with hint of dark chocolate.

FROMM Syrah 2017
Alc 12%, 98% Syrah 2% Viognier

Northern Rhone style. Wet vintage with blend of single vineyard syrah.
Ruby deep purple colour.
White pepper and black fruits, medium bodied and balance tannin.

FROMM Syrah Fromm Vineyard 2016
Alc 13.5%, 98% Syrah 2% Viognier

There is always more than just Pinot Noir from FROMM.
This is my favourite red at FROMM even though they also made good PN.

Deep purple, clear pink rim.
Blue fruits, white pepper and ginger.
Medium bodied and acidity, good structured and finesse.
