Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013   Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 (Napa Valley, USA) Alc , 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, RP94 WS 92 Deep garnet. Rich, bold, syrupy, eruption of red and black fruits, tobacco, vanilla and spices. Tannin was mellow given such vintage. Age for 15-30 years for more development in aroma and flavours.

This wine was bought at cellar door. Easy going and delightful dessert wine. It reminds me of a Hungarian Tokaji.

Rich, full-bodied, dark fruits, opulent, tannin intense but not harsh. Well displayed of structure and complexity. Age up to 30 years.

2013 The Sadie Family 'Columella'   2013 The Sadie Family 'Columella' (Swartland, South Africa) Alc 14%, 80% Syrah, 17% Mourvedre and 3% Grenache. Muted box of red fruits, oak, tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, tannin and cherry. Decanted for 1 hour showing no improvement on nose and palate. This wine need more cellaring.

Amazing white wine. Robust and well-structured. Stone fruits, acidity and spice integrated harmoniously.

Medium plus, ripe cherry and plum, liqourice, vanilla, tea leaves, forrest floor. Silky tannin and medium length.

Habánské Sklepy Zweigeltrebe Pozdní Sběr 2009   Habánské Sklepy Zweigeltrebe Pozdní Sběr 2009 (Morava, Czech Republic) Alc 13.5% This wine was bought at Czech Republic Airport duty-free. Deep Garnet. Earthy, ripe cherry, plum, currant. Soothing acidity, sour cherry, rounded tannin and refreshing on palate.

2012 Cullen Late Harvest Semillon   2012 Cullen Late Harvest Semillon (Margaret River, Western Australia) Alc 12%, Semillon 100% Straw Colour. Honeysuckle, dried mango, lemon rind and honey. Easy going, soothing honey and nectar on the palate.

Elvio Cogno Ravera Barolo 2012   Elvio Cogno Ravera Barolo 2012 (Piedmont, Italy) Alc 14.5%, Nebbiolo 100% Vanilla, cherry and woody scent. Medium bodied, red fruits (Ripe cherries and currants). Decanted for 30 minutes and it opens up showing strength, weight and intensity.

Dry River Riesling 2016   Dry River Riesling 2016 (Craighall Vineyard, Martinborough, New Zealand) Alc 11.5%, Riesling 100% Aromatics of lemon/orange rind, ginger, granny smith and chalk. Hits the palate with bright but soothing acidity suggesting taste of lemon meringue, key lime custard, granny smith apples. Enjoyable now but will benefit more with 5-7 years of cellaring.

Vinakara 2013 Kalecik Karasi   Vinakara 2013 Kalecik Karasi (Ankara, Turkey) Alc 14%, 100% Kalecik Karasi Light Ruby in colour. Earthy truffle, forest floor, raspberries and lightly floral. Light to medium, clean, red fruits, spices, velvety with bitterness towards end. Easy going, light on palate but also great with Turkish meze.

2007 Chateau Pontet-Canet   2007 Chateau Pontet-Canet (Pauillac, Bordeaux, France) Alc 13%, 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit-Verdot Garnet, light brownish rim. Cassis, plum, subtle sweet floral cedar, earthy truffle. Full bodied, dark fruity finishing with elegant tannin.

Medhurst Cabernet Sauvignon 2015   Medhurst Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 (Yarra Valley, Australia) Alc 14%, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Crimson purple Cassis, blackcurrant, black olive, black fruits, cedar note. Good amount of acid but not too overpowering. Cellar 10 years for better enjoyment.

Crimson with light orange tint on the rim. Liquorice, ripe cherries, blackcurrant, earthy mushroom, mint and spice. Intense berries, yea, floral oak and a hint of mint. Well-structured and composed, silky tannin, medium plus and lengthy finish. Good for drinking now and ageing with bring out another different style to this Shiraz.

Started of subtle and silky, ended full-bodied, acidic and intense. Plum, spices (white pepper) and cedar. Masculine, tight, acidity, intense and minerality. Some decanting and maturing will be good.

Full and lengthy, elegant acidity. Just the right time to drink now. (7 Years ageing) An excellent second wine from famous Sassicaia.

Louis Roederer, Brut Premier, Champagne NV   Louis Roederer, Brut Premier, Champagne NV Alc 12%, 40% Pinot Noir 40% Chardonnay 20% Pinot Meunier This is definitely Louis Roederer style champagne, always busting with citrusy. Zesty lemon, lemon meringue, toasty edge and ended with a savoury sea salt note.

Stag's Leap 2013 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon   Stag's Leap 2013 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley, USA) Alc 14.5%, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21 months in barrel, 90% New French Oak On the nose, plenty of dark fruits like cassis and blackcurrant. Subtle graphite. Full bodied loaded with dark fruits, medium acidity with ageing potential up to 20 years.
