2014 Torbreck The Gask   2014 Torbreck The Gask (Eden Valley, Barossa, South Australia) The Gask is sourced from a single plot of Shiraz nestled into the eastern slope of Mount McKenzie in Eden Valley. Crimson with light orange tint on the rim. Liquorice, ripe cherries, blackcurrant, earthy mushroom, mint and spice. Intense berries, yea, floral oak and a hint of mint. Well-structured and composed, silky tannin, medium plus and lengthy finish. Good for drinking now and ageing with bring out another different style to this Shiraz.

RISSIMO Junmai Daiginjo   RISSIMO Junmai Daiginjo (Matsumoto Sake Brewing Co., Ltd, Kyoto, Japan) 100% Aiyama Rice, 45% Polished, Alc 15% Clear, tint of light greenish yellow with light fizz. Floral, pear, apple and cider nose. Almost like a chardonnay with light fizzy feel. Nashi pear, citrus and hint of acidity. Enjoyable on it's own or pair well with seafood.

Hitachino Nest Dai Dai Ale   Hitachino Nest Dai Dai Ale (KIUCHI Brewery, Japan) ABV 6.2%, IBU 17 American IPA style. Copper, light haze, half inch head. Hoppy citrus peel on the nose. Rich and creamy, medium to full bodied, hop and citrus peel. Overall, decently smooth IPA.

Kosciuszko Pale Ale Kosciuszko Pale Ale [Kosciuszko Brewing Company (Lion Co.), NSW, Australia] ABV 4.5% Drank drafted in pint glass at Air New Zealand Lounge, Sydney. Cloudy amber with almost no head. Fresh fruity malty nose. On the palate it tasted refreshing with a malt finishing.

Mac's Interstate American Pale Ale Mac's Interstate APA (New Zealand) ABV 5%, IBU 40 Clear copper gold. Full bodied like IPA, with punchy hop yet refreshing. Second review (11 Aug 2019):   Clear copper, little lacing and fizz, one inch head fading to quarter inch quick. Sweet, fruity hop, hint of citrus peel. Easy drinking APA, lack fizz, prominent sweetness and hint of bitterness.
